With the goal of establishing the Programme d’échanges linguistiques intra-Québec, the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur  carried out a pilot project in collaboration with English and French school boards. Classes from Elementary Cycle Three participated in the project. Two exchange models were implemented: several one-day meetings preceded and followed by distance exchanges (through letters, e-mails and other technologies facilitating communication), as well as a camp (two days and two nights) preceded and followed by distance exchanges.

The personal accounts given here come from teachers and students who participated in the pilot project, as well as from a mother of one the participating students. They are very eloquent and could, for example, serve to enliven the presentation of an exchange project to students, parents or school administrators.
